The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast ahead of Mazingira Day tomorrow, Friday, 10th October 2025.

“As the nation marks Mazingira Day tomorrow, weather conditions are expected to be generally sunny and dry across most parts of the country,” the department said.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast generally dry conditions across most parts of the country in the coming days, with only isolated areas expected to receive light showers.

“However, occasional light rainfall may occur over parts of Western Kenya and along the Coastal strip,” the statement added.

The department noted that soils in many areas are already moist, making conditions favourable for tree planting and establishment.

“With soils already moist in many areas, the prevailing conditions are favourable for tree planting and establishment, supporting Kenya’s ongoing environmental restoration and climate action efforts,” the update said.

The Meteorological Department also highlighted that the generally sunny and dry weather will create ideal conditions for outdoor activities, particularly those linked to environmental initiatives.

“Let’s take advantage of this day and the conducive weather to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future,” the statement encouraged, urging Kenyans to actively participate in tree-planting exercises and other eco-friendly activities.

The favourable weather provides an opportunity for communities, schools, and organisations to engage in activities that will have lasting environmental benefits.

Weather experts noted that while most regions will enjoy sunny conditions, the light rains expected in Western Kenya and along the Coastal areas will help maintain soil moisture, supporting young trees and other vegetation planted during Mazingira Day events.

The Meteorological Department continues to advise the public to monitor weather updates for any changes, particularly in regions where rainfall may occur. Residents are also encouraged to follow safety measures when participating in outdoor activities, especially in areas prone to sudden showers.

As Mazingira Day approaches, the Meteorological Department’s forecast underscores the importance of aligning environmental initiatives with prevailing weather conditions to maximise the success of tree-planting efforts and other climate action projects.
