The Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) will this week open its online system to allow for Inter-Institution Transfers (IIT) of students.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Secretary, Dr Mercy Wahome has said that the system will be opened from July 25 to August 24, to allow students in the 2022/23 placement cycle change their programmes and institution.

“As per practice, KUCCPS provides an opportunity to students who may wish to change their programmes and institutions through the online system following he laid down procedures and within set timelines,” said Wahome in a letter to Vice Chancellors and Principals of constituent university colleges, TVET institutions and Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) dated July 19.

She said the IIT for previous years’ applicants is discouraged but communication to that effect will be disseminated to institutions at a later date.

According to Wahome, IIT process involves the student initiating an online transfer application, which will be submitted to the receiving institution.“The two institutions involved will obtain a transfer report on the institutional portal,” she said.

During the transfer, Wahome urged the Vice Chancellors to adhere to the individual programme cut off points as published by KUCCPS, which can be accessed on the institution’s portal.
