Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has paid an emotional tribute to his late father, Nahashon Gachagua Reriani, as he joined Kenyans in marking Father’s Day 2026.

In a heartfelt message on his social media handles on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Gachagua reflected on the values instilled in him by his late father, saying the lessons of courage, resilience and compassion continue to guide his life and leadership journey.

He also extended his Father’s Day wishes to fathers and spiritual leaders, acknowledging the pivotal role they play in nurturing families and building strong communities.

“On this Father’s Day 2026, I remember my late father, Mzee Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and all dads and our spiritual leaders playing a pivotal role in families and communities,” Gachagua’s statement read in part.

The former deputy president said his father’s unwavering dedication to family and community service remains a source of inspiration, fueling his determination to remain steadfast and always put the interests of family and other people before his own.

Gachagua noted that the principles taught by his father have shaped his character and strengthened his resolve in both public service and personal life.

Gachagua added that he and his family celebrate the responsibility, sacrifices and commitment demonstrated by fathers every day in caring for their loved ones and serving society.

He concluded his message with a prayer for all fathers, saying, “God bless all fathers.”
