Mudavadi rebukes leaders using forums to fuel hate
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musali Mudavadi has beseeched politicians to embrace humility as people vested with power and leadership.
Speaking during the empowerment forum in Mbeere South, Embu County, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, Mudavadi reminded leaders of their duty to nurture a new crop of political leaders, urging them to dismount from their pedestal and lead through virtue.
He specifically condemned the misuse of political forums by a section of politicians who use the aisle to advance divisive rhetoric.
Rise above tribal lines
“As leaders, we must embrace our roles with humility and integrity, always guided by respect for the people and a deep commitment to national unity. Let us speak to Kenyans with decency, lead with purpose, and invest in nurturing a new generation of leaders, ones who rise above tribal lines and personal gain and who champion inclusivity, cohesion, and shared prosperity,” the PCS said in a statement on X.
The PCS also reiterated the government’s willingness to listen to the country and use the feedback to improve its agenda.
“We envision a government that listens, responds, and acts, anchored in constitutional values and driven by the voices of its citizens. Constructive feedback is not just welcome; it is essential to shaping a future that works for all.
During the forum, Mudavadi reaffirmed the shared commitment by the government to achieve grassroots empowerment.
He stated that they remain keen on working to equip citizens with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities they need to grow sustainable enterprises, unlock dignified jobs, and uplift livelihoods across the country.

Mudavadi’s plea comes days after the former Cabinet Secretary, Justin Muturi, chided politicians for misusing the term honourable.
The former AG stated that the honorary title should not be a self-imposed title and ought to be used by second parties and not politicians while referring to themselves.
“When you are given the responsibility to lead, it’s a huge honour from wananchi. So when you come here to speak, just say, My name is Justin Muturi. I am not honourable Justin Muturi. The respect you command is from the citizens. They are the ones who say whether they respect you or not,” Muturi opined in a sobering remark.
