AC Horsens’ director, Kristian Nielsen has explained the club’s decision to sign winger Rogers Mugisha from Gor Mahia, highlighting the player’s exceptional qualities.

The 20-year-old Ugandan talent has been secured on a contract running until the summer of 2026.

Praise for Ex-Gor Mahia

Nielsen, in a post-signing statement, praised Mugisha’s talent, emphasizing his speed, technical skills, and unpredictability.

Despite recognizing Mugisha’s qualities, the director acknowledged the need for the young player to adapt to the European football environment, both on and off the pitch.

However, Nielsen expressed confidence in the club’s support system, assuring that Mugisha will thrive once he undergoes an adjustment period.

“We are acquiring a talented player who is fast, technically skilled, and unpredictable with a wide range of feints and tricks. There is no doubt about Mugisha’s qualities, but as a young player, he needs to adapt to the conditions of European football and settle in off the pitch.

“We have a good setup to support him, and I have no doubt that he will flourish on the field once he goes through an adjustment period,” AC Horsens’ director revealed.

About former Gor Mahia man

Mugisha, despite his youth, has already made his debut for Uganda’s senior national team and has represented the U17 and U20 national teams.

His notable performance in the U20 AFCON in 2023 earned him a place in the tournament’s best XI.

Coming from Gor Mahia, the reigning champions in Kenya, Mugisha played a pivotal role in the club’s current competitive season.
