AFC Leopards were unable to register a win after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sofapaka in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Ingwe were destined for a win after they took the lead just after the hour mark, but Sofapaka fought back to equalize in the 90th minute.

Brian Yakhama had put the 1998 Premier League winners in the 65th minute but allowed their opponents to force a share of points when Humphrey Mieno scored.

The draw means AFC Leopards are in the 14th position, while Sofapaka are in the 16th place.

Posta Rangers win

Posta Rangers widened the gap between them and Gor Mahia at the top of the Premier League table after a 3-1 win over Shabana FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Rangers, who enjoyed a three-match winning streak before their Shabana duel, were already under pressure at the summit with Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal, who have just 22 points, closing in on them.

Meanwhile, Felix Oluoch opened the scoring with his goal in the fifth minute, but Tore Bobe fought and equalized almost instantly with a goal from Eugene Mukangula in the 10th minute.

The Mailmen, however, extended their lead in the 18th minute, with Brian Otieno being the scorer this time around. The goal came after a number of persistent attacks from the league leaders.

The John Kamau charges saw their lead extended further after Eric Ongiri, in Shabana’s goal, failed to collect the ball and fumbled, sending the ball into his own net.

Rangers are now on 25 points, but the gap could be reduced to just a point should Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal win their respective matches.

The National Super League champions have struggled since their return to the top flight and are 14th with just 10 points from 12 games.

Meanwhile, Bandari and FC Talanta shared points after a 1-1 draw at Mbaraki Stadium.

Elsewhere, the Nairobi City Stars picked up a 3-1 win over the Kariobangi Sharks.
