Western Kenya Leaders are mounting pressure on ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula to support ODM leader Raila Odinga in his quest for presidency next year.

The leaders led by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojamong said their hardline stand might work against them because the process to take over from president Uhuru Kenyatta is already taking shape and will be a two-horse race between Odiga and Deputy president William Ruto.

Ojamong said given the leadership struggle exhibited by Raila, he deserves to lead Kenya.

He said in terms of merit, Raila stands out thus there is no need for the Western Kenya leaders to continue wasting time with their hardline stand that might cost them politically.

He urged them to unite all western Kenya leadership to rally behind Raila in forming the next government.

His sentiments were echoed by Trans Nzoia County speaker Joshua Werunga and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa who were also present.
