Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has shared a cryptic message shortly after President William Ruto took his development agenda to Kiambu County on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

While attending a church service at AIPCA Gatundu North Diocese, Karure, Kiambu County, Ruto announced that Kiambu County is at the top of the list in areas earmarked for grand development projects as Kenya embarks on the transformative journey from third-world to first-world class.

Ruto’s Goodies for Kiambu

”The journey of transforming Kenya is charging forward at full speed across all our 47 counties. In Kiambu County, for example, in under three years, we have invested more than Ksh4.5 billion in the construction of 30 modern markets – the largest market infrastructure programme in the country – designed to accelerate the growth of small businesses and traders,” Ruto shared via X.

Ruto also inspected the Ksh380 million Kamwangi Modern Market, which, according to him, will be completed in March 2026 and will host more than 1,500 traders.

”Our Ksh5 trillion National Economic Independence Project will place our economy on a firm footing by generating jobs, creating wealth, and sustainably elevating Kenya to first-world status. Let us work together to make this vision a reality,” he added.

However, Moses Kuria, the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader, shared a brief message with the people of Kiambu shortly after President Ruto revealed his development agenda in the devolved unit.

Kuria sends a signal

”Cry, my beloved Kiambu!” Moses Kuria took to his official X account. Kuria’s reaction also follows President Ruto’s attack on those opposed to his transformation agenda.

”They have been in government for many years; if they did not construct roads leading to their homes, how would they construct roads leading to your homes?” The Head of State asked.

Ruto has also announced a long-term strategy aimed at transforming Kenya into a first-world nation, anchored on the establishment of a National Infrastructure Fund expected to mobilise Ksh5 trillion for large-scale development projects.

Meanwhile, Moses Kuria’s message to Kiambu residents also follows a heated moment when a section of area leaders differed ideologically before the President, while some faced a hard time addressing the crowd.
