DCI operation in Trans Nzoia
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) will continue with their operation in Trans Nzoia county, targeting individuals who attacked Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers and obstructed them from conducting a search in Governor George Natembeya’s home.
In a statement, DCI vowed to track down all the perpetrators and bring them to book. Their preliminary report indicated that five EACC vehicles were destroyed. Some of the seized items and other valuables from the cars were also stolen after the rowdy youth overpowered the security officers who had accompanied the EACC officers.
“The attack is a blatant attempt to undermine the rule of law and obstruct justice. The DCI has launched investigations to identify and bring to book the perpetrators behind this attack.”

Natembeya’s case to continue
Governor George Natembeya is expected to make headlines on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, following the EACC raid at his homes on Monday, May 19, 2025.
The governor is expected to know whether he will appear in court or what direction EACC will take regarding the matter.
He is also expected to break his silence regarding the matter where EACC indicated that they were investigating him over links to the fraudulent acquisition of Ksh1.4 billion.

They claimed the irregularities are believed to have occurred in the 2022/2023 to 2024/2025 financial years.
Anti-Graft body further stated that the incidents relate to three major county projects, among them the rehabilitation and modernisation of Kenyatta Stadium (Phase 1A), the construction of the county headquarters offices and the construction of Tom Mboya Hospital.
“The Governor is alleged to have influenced award of tenders and received kickbacks from contractors through proxies,” the Commission said.
