Kiambu Woman Rep Wamuratha urges Ruto to ignore critics and focus on his mandate
Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha has urged President William Ruto to remain focused on delivering his development agenda and to ignore critics of his administration, whom she dismissed as political noisemakers.
Speaking during a church service in Gatundu North on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Wamuratha praised the President’s leadership style, noting that his ability to concentrate on his mandate despite criticism was key to fulfilling the promises made to Kenyans during the election period.
She expressed confidence that Ruto’s record in office would, in the coming years, be viewed favourably and rank him among the country’s best-performing presidents.
Wamuratha argued that the President’s commitment to service delivery has attracted the support of like-minded leaders who are more interested in development than political confrontations. She maintained that performance, rather than constant political noise, should be the true measure of leadership.

Wamuratha, who is opposed to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua despite him establishing himself as the political kingpin and de facto leader of the Mount Kenya region, stated that the President’s focus on delivering results to the nation is what has endeared him to her and other like-minded leaders, rather than pursuing alternative political routes.
Her remarks come amid ongoing political debates within the Mount Kenya region, where differing views continue to emerge over leadership, loyalty, and the future political direction of the area.
“I like your spirit of ignoring the noisemakers and focusing on doing what Kenyans elected you to do. Miaka ijayo, watu wataangalia kazi yako, and you shall be rated the best president that Kenya ever had. Ndio maana wengi wetu tumeamua kufuata maono ambayo uko nayo,” Wamuratha said.
The service
This came during a church service in the county where the president was joined by notable leaders from Kiambu County.

Other leaders present include area governor Kimani Wamatangi and MP Njoroge Kururia, Cabinet Secretaries Alice Wahome (Housing) and William Kabogo (ICT), and Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a.
Gatundu North MPs’ demands
Gatundu North Member of Parliament (MP) Njoroge Kururia, who was the host, pleaded with President William Ruto to help build a new level five hospital in the county.
“Here in Gatundu North, when our residents want to access healthcare, they have to travel all the way to Njabini, Thika, or Gatundu South. We ask that you build for us a level five hospital here to help our people get access to medical facilities conveniently,” he stated.
