Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has explained the absence of other opposition leaders allied under the United Alternative Government faction as he officially unveiled his campaign platform for the presidency in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the launch of his presidential campaign on Saturday, June 6, 2027, Kalonzo stated that their non-attendance should not be interpreted as divisions within the coalition.

He expressed confidence that the opposition coalition will remain united and unseat President William Ruto after a single term.

The former vice president praised his fellow coalition principals, describing them as a committed team determined to champion the interests of Kenyans and work together until the next election.

“Allow me to salute my co-principals in the United Alternative Government and to thank them sincerely for standing together as a strong team which has sworn to stand with Kenyans,” Kalonzo said.

Flagship arrangements

He revealed that he had considered inviting the other opposition leaders to the event but decided against it due to ongoing discussions surrounding the coalition’s leadership structure and flagship arrangements.

“I actually had debated whether to invite them, and I said maybe once we have sorted out this issue about flagship. But for now, I know that they are all watching. They are a wonderful team,” he stated.

Kalonzo accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of banking on divisions within the opposition, insisting that the coalition remains intact despite speculation over its future.

The Wiper leader further exuded confidence that a united opposition would defeat President Ruto in the 2027 election.

“We know that this administration’s only hope is that the United Alternative Government will split,” he said.

“Without any split today, fellow Kenyans, I can assure you, I can actually assure you, that William Ruto is a one-term president,” Kalonzo declared.
