Salim Ali, Muyoti weigh in on Nairobi Utd’s revamped technical bench
Football Kenya Federation Premier League side, Nairobi United’s Technical Director, Salim Ali and Head Coach, Nicholas Muyoti, have weighed in on the revamped technical bench of the team ahead of the league resumption in January 2026 after the holiday break.
The FKF Cup holders have confirmed the addition of new personnel to its technical unit, a move aimed at enhancing tactical input and overall performance ahead of a busy 2026 calendar that includes domestic competitions and continental action.
Among the new arrivals is Boniface Omondi Musa, who joins the team as an assistant coach. Musa is a CAF B licence holder and previously worked with the 2018 FKF Cup winners Kariobangi Sharks. He has also handled former league champions Mathare United and National Super League side Naivas FC.
Speaking on the new additions confirmed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Salim Ali noted that the expanded technical team would provide the tactical balance and depth required to compete both locally and in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Ali speaks

”The most important thing is revamping the team; Nairobi United is bigger than anyone. We are trying to have a new face in the team. Last season, we brought in Muyoti in the second leg of the National Super League to change a few things, and he achieved a lot in terms of winning the league and the Mozzart Cup. We are trying to beef up the team, which sometimes demands quality,”
The Nairobi-based club has also brought on board Sadiq Ambani, another CAF B-certified coach, to serve as assistant coach. Ambani arrives from five-time league champions Ulinzi Stars and has previously been part of the technical setups at reigning champions Kenya Police FC as well as former title holders Tusker FC.
Touching on the additions, the outfit’s head coach, Nicholas Muyoti, welcomed the new members, expressing confidence that the reinforced technical unit gives the club a strong foundation to achieve its targets this season.
Muyoti weighs in

”I would like to thank the management for what they have so far. We welcome the changes. It is a good team, and I believe we can work together and make sure we achieve what we want as a team. Looking at the quality of the coaches that have come in, it is a plus.” Muyoti asserted.
In addition, FIFA-accredited fitness trainer Kevin Kimani has been appointed as the club’s Strength and Conditioning coach, further strengthening the team’s performance department.
The revamped bench will immediately get to work as Nairobi United prepare for an away fixture against Shabana FC in Kisii on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Nairobi United will then turn their attention back to continental football, hosting Moroccan giants Wydad AC in Nairobi on February 8, 2026, in a CAF Confederation Cup encounter.
