Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Passport collection

The Nairobi Immigration Department will today remain open from 9 am to 1 pm.

According to a statement by the department on Friday, May 17, 2024, the move is meant to allow applicants to collect their passports.

“To expedite the collection of passports, our Nairobi office will be open on Saturday, 18th May 2024 from 9 am to 1 pm. Applicants who applied for passports in Nairobi and have received notification to collect their passports are encouraged to take advantage of the extended service,” the statement reads in parts.

Blackout

Siaya County will today be affected by the planned power interruption.

In their statement on Friday, Kenya Power said the planned interruption which is part of network maintenance will only affect one county today.

Areas that will be affected include the Dondi Market and Sigana areas and adjacent customers from 9 am to 5 pm.

“The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (18th May, 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,’ Kenya Power said.
