The officer in charge of Bungoma GK Prison was on Wednesday found dead in his house.
Aggrey Akoyo was found dead at his househelp after he failed to wake up in the morning.

Western Regional Commissioner Irungu Macharia said the deceased had not complained of any illness.
“The deceased was healthy and had not previously complained about any illness,” said Macharia.

The regional boss said that on Tuesday, Akoya reported working as usual but went back to the house at around midday to rest.

“From the reports that I have, Akoyo did not complain about anything. He has always related well with others and worked well,” he said.

Macharia said his househelp tried to reach him on the phone but his calls went unanswered.
Akoyo’s body was taken to Life Care Hospital mortuary pending autopsy as police launched investigations into the death.
