Mogotio MP Kiborek congratulates Kiprono Chemitei for winning Baringo UDA Senator nominations
Mogotio Member of Parliament (MP) Reuben Kiborek has praised UDA aspirant Kiprono Chemitei following his triumph in the Baringo senatorial primaries.
Chemitei, who previously worked as Kiborek’s driver, clinched the party ticket after a competitive contest that drew several strong candidates. His victory is being viewed as a story of resilience and determination, symbolising the possibilities that come with hard work and dedication.
“Yours is truly a journey of hope, resilience, courage, determination, and unwavering belief. Through you, we are all reminded that with faith and hard work, everything is possible. Your victory is not just personal; it is a beacon for many who dare to dream.” Kiborek stated.

Kiborek highlighted Chemitei’s journey as an inspiration to many, noting that it reflects hope and the power of persistence in the political arena. He also commended Chemitei’s competitors, including Kipsang Tobolei, Daniel Kiptoo, and Tochim, for their spirited campaigns, which, he said, strengthened the democratic process within the party.
“I also extend my congratulations to Kipsang Tobolei, Daniel Kiptoo (DK777), and Tochim for the spirited and commendable campaign. You were worthy competitors who enriched the democratic process with dignity and passion,” he added.
The MP further lauded the United Democratic Alliance for conducting what he described as a transparent and credible nomination exercise, adding that the integrity upheld during the process had renewed public confidence in internal party democracy.
“A special commendation to our great party for upholding integrity, transparency, and high standards during the party primaries. By passing the integrity test, you have set a strong example for others to follow and renewed our faith in internal democracy,” he concluded.

Chemitei’s win now positions him as the UDA flag bearer in the race to succeed the late Baringo Senator William Cheptumo, who died in April.
Chelugui’s reaction
Former CS Simon Chelugui, who hails from the county, has also sent his congratulatory message to the candidate upon his win.
“On Saturday, 20th September 2025, I exercised my civic duty by participating in the United Democratic Alliance Party primaries to elect our party flag bearer. Through the ballot, the people of Baringo County have spoken and nominated Kiprono Cheburet Chemitei. I take this opportunity to congratulate him for emerging as the winner and to assure him of my full support in the next phase,” Chelugui stated.
