Gachagua breaks silence with support message to Harambee Stars
Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence after a chaotic return from the United States on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
In a statement on Friday, August 22, 2025, Gachagua hailed Harambee Stars and wished them success against Madagascar in their quarter-finals match at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
“It’s Football O’clock. Hail Harambee Stars,” Gachagua said, as he posed in a white jersey of the national team.
Breaks silence
Gachagua remained silent after his return from the US, which was characterized by goon violence, destruction of property, and injury to journalists who were covering his entourage along Mombasa Road.

Several cars in the entourage were damaged by stone-throwing goons, who attacked the convoy at the Airport North Road and Kabanas.
Gachagua, who was expected to deliver a speech at the Kamukunji Grounds, was forced to abandon the mission without giving an explanation.
Undisclosed location
He has since resorted to watching the football match against Madagascar at an undisclosed location.
The highly consequential match will determine if Kenya makes it to the next round or not, even as Tanzania takes on Morocco at 8:00 pm, a match that Kenyan football fanatics will follow keenly.

Tanzania and Kenya have been having online banters about which of their teams is the best. Both teams finished their group stages unbeaten and at 10 points each.
Speaking in Nairobi on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen wished that Tanzania could reach the finals, so that it faces Kenya in the finals, which will be held in the Kasarani Stadium.
“The best thing that will happen for Kenya and Tanzania, and the match that will be very interesting, is to have Tanzania in the finals,” Murkomen said on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
“We wish Tanzania all the best; hopefully, they can make it to the semis and then to the finals so that we have a very enjoyable match in Kasarani.”
“I don’t know how we will control the people who will go to the stadium because that will be really a cracker.”
Morocco will face Tanzania later today at 8:00 pm to fight for a slot in the semifinals. Uganda will face Senegal as Sudan clashes with Algeria on Saturday, August 23, 2025, for a spot in the next round.
