Fred Matiang’i, Jubilee Party deputy leader, on Friday, April 17, 2026, officially opened the party’s Gatundu South constituency office at Wara House.

The event brought together party supporters and local residents as the Jubilee Party intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement shared on his X account, he said, “This morning, I had the honour of opening the Gatundu South Jubilee office,” and added, “I later spent time with traders at the local market, listening to their concerns and hearing their stories. Their resilience is a powerful reminder of why we must build an economy that works for every Kenyan.”

Opening of Gatundu South Jubilee office

Matiang’i presided over the official opening of the Gatundu South Jubilee Party office, where he signed operational documents and met party supporters. The office is located at Wara House in the Gatundu South constituency.

Party officials said the facility will support membership registration, voter mobilisation, and coordination of local activities. The opening was accompanied by interactions with residents and traders from nearby markets, where the former interior cabinet secretary engaged with small-scale business operators on their daily economic activities.

The launch is part of a broader Jubilee Party programme to establish operational offices across constituencies to strengthen structures and improve communication between national and local party leadership.

Party nationwide expansion strategy

The Jubilee Party has embarked on a nationwide strategy to establish constituency and county offices across the country.

Offices have already been opened in regions including Narok, Samburu, Nakuru, Nyeri and Nyandarua. The centres are intended to support membership recruitment, voter registration drives, community engagement and coordination of party activities.

The Gatundu South office adds to the growing network of operational hubs aimed at strengthening grassroots organisations ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The party leadership says the expansion aims to enhance communication between citizens and national leadership structures and improve mobilisation at the local level.

Political context and grassroots mobilisation

The office launch comes amid ongoing national discussions on electoral preparedness, including voter registration and the management of the electoral register by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Jubilee Party Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta has previously raised concerns regarding directives affecting pre-2012 registrants.

The party has positioned its grassroots network as a mechanism for enhancing voter awareness and mobilisation of eligible voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
