Johana Ng’eno’s personal assistant vows to uphold late MP’s legacy
Late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ngeno’s Personal Assistant (PA), Benard Ngeno, popularly known as Arap Buluu, has vowed to honour the life and legacy of his late friend and boss, who perished alongside five others in a tragic plane crash on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Speaking during the mass service and funeral of the five victims of the chopper crash, Buluu reflected on the deep personal and professional loss to the constituency and the broader Rift Valley region. He expressed gratitude for having had the chance to serve the people of Emurua Dikirr under Ngeno’s leadership, describing the late MP as a mentor and friend.
“I have today witnessed my friend, boss and mentor Johana Ngeno laid to rest. I am grateful for the opportunity I served the people of Emurua Dikirr in the capacity Ngeno gave me,” Buluu said.

The aide said that the grief was still overwhelming for those who knew Ngeno personally and professionally, acknowledging the struggle to hold back emotions during the funeral proceedings.
“We have tried so much to hold back our tears,” he added.
Buluu paid tribute to the enduring impact of Ngeno’s work, emphasising that his achievements would continue to inspire the community for generations.
“You will forever be immortalised by all the good you did,” he said.
He said he would take time to mourn personally, while sending his wishes for strength and guidance to the people of Emurua Dikirr during this period of loss.
“From today, I will take a rest to mourn. I wish the people of Emurua Dikirr all the best during this period. God Bless you and may he continue to comfort you,” Buluu added.

The aide revealed plans to convene a meeting of friends and supporters of Ngeno from across Kenya and abroad, with the aim of creating a strategic plan to continue the late MP’s work and initiatives in the Rift Valley.
“During this time, we will convene a meeting of all friends of Ngong from Kenya and outside the country. I know you didn’t have time to eulogise our boss,” he said.
Buluu outlined a framework to inventory Ngeno’s projects and ensure their completion, assigning leaders to oversee the initiatives and maintain the late MP’s vision of service, unity, and equity in the region.
“We will also have an inventory of all that Ngong stood for in the Rift Valley and have a way forward on how we will achieve them. We will assign our leaders accordingly and oversee the implementation. This is keeping the legacy of our departed hero,” he said.
He concluded by stressing the importance of community solidarity, reiterating that Ngeno’s ideals would guide efforts for fairness, unity, and inclusive development.
“We will stand for both unity and equity,” Buluu stated.
