Malkia Strikers and Kenya Pipeline volleyball club attacker Pamela Awino has laid bare her intentions of clinching the Kenya Cup with the Oilers.

Adhiambo, who was instrumental in leading Pipeline past the DCI, took to her Facebook page on Saturday, July 12, 2025, to express her delight after being named the player of the match in the semifinal clash against the sleuths.

Pipeline edged the Patrick Sang-coached side in three straight sets to set up a final clash against Kenya Commercial Bank on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

“Kenya Cup finalists KPC. And to add on to it, I was awarded the player of the match against DCI in the second semi-final match of the day. Glory back to God, and let’s work to bring the cup back home to the Kenya Pipeline Company,” the attacker said.

Pipeline vs DCI

In the semifinal tie against DCI, the decorated Kenyan attacker showed her mettle with brilliant spikes to see the well-coordinated Oilers side extend their recent dominance in court against the fast-rising sleuths.

In what went down as a repeat of the KVF playoff final in May, Geoffrey Omondi’s side survived an early scare to edge the sleuths 26-24 in the opening set.

Dominant Oilers

They stretched the fine start to convincingly win the subsequent set on a commanding 25-25 scoreline before wrapping up the tie with a 26-24 win in the third set.

The success not only secured Oilers’ place in the inaugural Kenya Cup finals but also cemented their status among the leading women’s volleyball clubs in the country.

With the win, Pipeline now shifts focus to the finals against KCB on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The two teams will go head-to-head for the ultimate prize money of Ksh300,000 and the bragging rights of the elite women’s volleyball club title at stake.

Meanwhile, DCI will face off against Kenya Prisons Queens in the third-place playoff.

Prisons fell to Kenya Commercial Bank 3-2 in the second semifinal staged at the Indoor Arena on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

DCI will enter the clash as favourites after edging past Prisons in the semifinal of the KVF National League clash held in May 2025.

The winner of the third-place playoff will pocket Ksh100,000, with the fourth-ranked team taking home Ksh75,000.
