‘We don’t have quality’ – Gor Mahia coach laments poor performance against Bidco

Gor Mahia coach Sinisa Mihic has hit out at his players over a lack of quality and a bad attitude during the team’s 0-0 draw against Bidco United on February 20, 2025.
Speaking after the team was held by the lowly ranked side, Mihic sounded a warning on the massive changes needed at the club if things are to change for the better.
The coach went ahead to propose an overhaul of the team’s playing unit to meet the quality needed.

Ironically, the Croat was rather optimistic after his arrival at the start of February 2025. The coach in a past interview expressed guarded optimism over the prospect of his players.
He made a winning bow in a 2-1 win against Mathare United a week later but back-to-back draws have further derailed the team’s quest for a potential resurgence under the trainer.
Walking
Reacting to the performance of his players, Mihic slammed a cavalier attitude shown by a section of his players whom he chastised for not running enough.
“To be honest, We don’t have quality we need five new players up front,” he charged.
“If you put players from the bench they have to bring something if they are professionals. Not just walking like that. We have players who went in from the bench and brought nothing to the team. Just walking around like that,” he charged.
Replace players
“After what I’ve seen we need quality. We played a team hellbent on defending their goal we needed to change our approach. We need to refresh the team and replace some players if I’m the coach. They are not of Gor Mahia calibre,” he concluded.
The draw saw Gor Mahia fail to capitalise on their quest to further ascent the log much after leaders Police FC also failed to win their game.
Police’s 1-0 defeat to Mathare United meant that Gor reduced the gap by only a point and is now five points behind the log leaders.
In what would add to the concern of the Gor Mahia fans, Bidco draw served as the warm-up to the much anticipated Mashemeji Derby against rivals AFC Leopards.
The derby is set to be played on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
