Gor Mahia coach Sinisa Mihic has backed his players to get better with more training sessions as he look to instil his philosophy at the club.

Speaking after overseeing the team’s session on Thursday, February 6, 2025, Mihic expressed guarded optimism as he relayed his satisfaction with the prospect of his players.

The coach has however noted the different facets that the team could work and improve on. The tactician further revealed that his immediate task is on the overall team structure and organization before shifting to player’s individual aspect and profiles.

Good players

At the moment I need to meet players individually and also as a team. The focus now is on the structure of the team. From what I’ve seen, We have good players, competitive and dynamic. They are good now and they can be better. They have not start playing when I came in. They have been doing it and the thing is there are also aspects where they can improve. It’s the reason I’m here,” he stated.

During his unveiling a week ago, the Croat underscored the need to restore Gor Mahia’s lost glory and pride as he took over the reins at Kenyan most successful club.

The coach will be keen on a positive league bow this Saturday, February 8, 2025 against Mathare United. Heading into the clash, Gor mahia are keen to make grounds on the leading pack of Tusker and Kenya Police though the coach insists that they are not concerned with the gap separating them.

“It (the gap) has been there. We don’t focus on the points variations. We only have to focus on our games, the way we play and see where it places us if we win our games,”Mihic averred.

“We are prepared well for the game. This match is like any other. We will try to win. It is important for us, for them and the club. It will make our fans happy. Winning brings a happy feeling. The strategy doesn’t matter, we just have to win,” he added.
