Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League outfit Posta Rangers will be keen to stretch their lead at the summit of the table when they take on Nairobi City Stars tomorrow at Machakos Stadium.

The Mailmen have enjoyed a good start to their campaign that has seen them top the 18-team table with 25 points from 12 matches. They have managed seven wins, four draws and suffered one defeat.

Posta coach John Kamau has insisted his players will be focused on winning their matches and will not be carried away with the prospects of winning their first-ever title at the end of the season.

“We want to take it a game at a time, and winning the title is not in our minds, we still have a long way to go and our focus now is the game against City Stars, we want to win our matches and must stay focused,” Kamau told People Sports.

Simba wa Nairobi have been blowing hot and cold, and are currently placed tenth on the log with 15 points. In other matches set for tomorrow, FC Talanta will seek to bounce back to winning ways when they face Ulinzi Stars.

Talanta under head coach Ken Kenyatta settled for a 1-1 draw against Bandari in their last assignment while Ulinzi suffered a 1-0 defeat against Kakamega Homeboyz. Shabana FC will also be in action against KCB in a match they will be searching for their third victory of the campaign.

On Sunday, champions Gor Mahia will be striving to make it two wins out of two when they face Kariobangi Sharks. K’Ogalo won their last fixture 2-0 against Muhoroni Youth to put the pressure on Posta and they will want to keep the winning momentum going.

K’Ogalo coach Johnathan McKinstry is aware of the threats posed by Sharks and has cautioned his players not to underrate them.

“We must not underrate Sharks because they are a good side and always rise up to the occasion when playing against top teams including Gor Mahia, we want to win our games, and against Sharks it is not an exception,” said McKinstry.

Homeboyz will come up against Bidco United, Bandari host Muhoroni in Mombasa, Nzoia Sugar face struggling Sofapaka while Kenya Police will confront promoted side Murang’a Seal FC.

On Monday, AFC Leopards will take on Tusker in a fixture they have to win to move from the relegation zone. Ingwe have not enjoyed a good start and are currently sitting 14th with 10 points while the Brewers are also struggling as they are lying four places above them with 14 points.

Ingwe coach Tomas Trucha is confident his charges will get a positive result against Tusker. “We have worked on our weaknesses especially turning the chances we create into goals and I am confident we will not struggle against Tusker, we will get a positive result,” said Trucha.
