Former Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic has vowed to take Kenya Police to the “promised land” after taking up the coaching role at the FKF Premier League outfit yesterday.

The 57-year-old Croat was unveiled to take over the mantle at the law enforcers after the club parted ways with coach Francis Baraza owing to a string of poor results in the top-flight.

Speaking after being unveiled on a one-year renewable contract, Logarusic, who has coached Gor Mahia rivals AFC Leopards in the Kenyan league, promised to deliver the goods and further insisted Police will fight for the title this season.

“We are not here for the top four, we are here for the top one,” said Logarusic, adding: “I’m going to work with the team one hour and a half today and tomorrow to try and pick up some pieces that we can change in a short time and then on Saturday we do the job in a positive way and get started from there on.”

With Police spending big on signings, Logarusic was asked if he would be comfortable working under pressure, he said pressure was part of his job.
