Only Jesus Christ Saves (OJCS) basketball teams continue to dominate the Eldoret Women’s Basketball League (EWBL) and the men’s Eldoret Basketball League (EBL), storming to the summit of both competitions.

In the women’s league, OJCS Ladies overcame defending champions Storm Baddies 32-27 in a closely fought encounter to climb to the top of the table with 12 points, holding a slim one-point lead over second-placed Bhadie Yankees with 11 points.

This is according to the latest league standings shared with People Sports on July 22, 2025, by EBL official Kenneth Chemwok.

Pantheras occupy third place in the EWBL table with 8 points, the same as fourth-placed Cheptil Knights, although Pantheras boast a superior Points For (PF) tally of 267 and Points Against (PA) of 207 compared to Cheptil Knights’ 214 PF.

Calvary Ladies sit fifth with 7 points, while defending champions Storm Baddies are at the bottom with 6 points.

In the tight clash against Storm Baddies, OJCS Ladies narrowly edged the first quarter 12-9 and took the second quarter 6-5.

Storm Baddies fought back in the third quarter, winning it 9-7, but OJCS Ladies regrouped to clinch the fourth quarter 7-4, thanks to a late surge led by point guard C.

Speaking to People Sports on July 22, the soft-spoken OJCS coach Purity Mosoti credited the team’s victory to collective effort and trust among players.

“Teamwork by OJCS players and trusting one another enabled us to defeat the defending champions, Storm Baddies. It was a good competition and we enjoyed the game,” Mosoti said.

In the men’s EBL, OJCS delivered a commanding 83-55 win over the University of Eldoret (UoE) Glades.

They narrowly took the first quarter 12-10, widened the gap in the second quarter with a 24-10 run, squeezed through the third quarter 14-13, and sealed the game emphatically with a dominant 23-2 final quarter.
