‘Your vehicle has a brakes problem’ – Morara asks Kenyans for help to repair civic education car
Political activist Morara Kebaso has appealed to Kenyans for assistance in repairing the vehicle he had acquired to conduct civic education across the country.
Appealing on Saturday, December 14, 2024, via his X account, the activist revealed that the Prado Land Cruiser had developed brake issues and the cost of repair was prohibitive.
According to Morara, the repair would cost over Ksh150,000 for an actuator. He urged Kenyans to help him find a more affordable solution, emphasizing his commitment to making the vehicle operational for civic education purposes.
“Hello Kenyans, your vehicle has a brake problem. We are being charged more than Ksh 150k for the actuator. Kindly help me get a better price. We have called five shops so far, but the cost is quite high. If we can get the motor part alone, I will be grateful. Send a WhatsApp text to 0758.307.727 (ABS Pump Brake Master Cylinder Booster Actuator 05-09 Lexus GX470 89541-6006),” Morara posted.
Morara slams critics
Morara’s plea sparked a mixed reaction among netizens. While some offered advice and suggestions, others criticized him for often seeking public assistance.
Taking to his X account, he slammed the critics noting that everyone is a beggar in different capacities.
“Most of you Kenyans are beggars like me. You beg for jobs. You beg your rich relatives. You beg for rent. You beg for food. You beg for money to refill your gas. It is not your wish to beg. Most of you are educated and very hardworking,” Morara wrote.
He went on to promise that, if elected president, he would address the root causes of economic struggles in Kenya.
“If I become your president, we will all stop begging and start giving. I will fix the economy and finish corruption. Your businesses will be profitable, and jobs will look for you. For now, Tubebane Beggar Kwa Beggar,” he added.
Civic education car
Morara first unveiled the Prado Land Cruiser in September 2024, presenting it as a tool in his mission to educate Kenyans about their rights. He argued that the current government has failed citizens through unchecked corruption and wasteful expenditure, which made civic education important.
Morara who is also a businessman called on skilled Kenyans to assist in branding the vehicle to align with its purpose of promoting awareness and knowledge among citizens.
