‘Chance of rainfall over few places’- Kenya Met issues weather forecast for next 5 days
A few areas in the country are expected to receive rainfall in the next five days, according to the weather forecast report issued by the Kenya Meteorological Department.
According to the forecast report issued on Saturday, September 21, 2024, showers are expected on the Highlands east of the Rift Valley.
The Highlands east of the Rift Valley feature Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties.
Besides the possibility of rainfall, the areas are expected to be characterised by partly cloudy conditions in the morning from Saturday, September 21, 2024, to Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
However, during the day, Kenya Met has predicted sunny intervals to hit areas in the Highlands east of the Rift Valley.
According to the forecast, almost a similar weather pattern is expected in the Highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley. In all five days, rainfall is expected at night in this region, the weatherman explained.
Counties in this geographical region include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeiyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.
Coastal region
In the next five days, chances of rainfall have been predicted to occur in the morning, before sunny intervals, and later in the evening, the counties will be characterised by partly cloudy weather.
Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties will experience a maximum rainfall of 31 degrees Celsius.
South-eastern lowlands
The south-eastern lowlands areas, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, will only experience sunny and cloudy weather for the next five days.
The region will also experience higher temperatures during the day, with the highest hitting 32 degrees Celsius.
