Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has assured President William Ruto of the county’s commitment to important development projects over the incessant politics that have dominated the Mt. Kenya region.

The governor made the remarks on Sunday, August 10, 2025, while hosting President William Ruto at the PCEA Joshua Matenjwa Church in Limuru Town for a worship service.

“In this county, we have our agenda clear-cut. Unlike others, we decided to reduce the volume of politicking to zero so that we can have a conducive environment for meaningful work. That is the mood here. This is the criterion to know those working and those engaging in talks only,” he stated.

The governor specifically lauded the several development progresses and gains made by the county in the fields of healthcare, public service, and education.

“Our county is now being tipped as the number one in many development facets, ranging from the building of ECDE classes to others. We also resolved to go completely green in our public service. At first, we used to be drilling boreholes, and when they were placed in electrical storage, no one has been consuming that water. We now have installed solar street lighting, and the bills we used to incur in service fees are now saved,” he stated.

Plea to Ruto

During the function, Wamatangi pleaded with the head of state to consider allowing the loop on the western bypass to pass through Limuru town as a means of economically opening up the region.

On her part, the area’s women representative, Wanjiku Wamuratha, affirmed the region’s alignment with President Ruto, stating that they believe in his dream for improving and transforming the lives of Kenyans.

“At times, people may not understand you, but those of us who understand your vision for this county know you have an agenda for this county, and we believe in what you are telling us,” she stated. “The agenda the president has for our children must be supported by us, especially the women. We have projects of TVETs and village polytechnics. Let us get our children there,” she implored.
