Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has warned President William Ruto suggesting that his political career seems more cloudy than sunny given the performance of his government.

The lawmaker attended the homecoming ceremony of Cooperative and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya said on his X account on Saturday, August 24, 2024, where Ruto was also present.

He said that after listening to the sentiments of the people, he believes that if significant improvements aren’t made in the government’s performance, President Ruto’s prospects could be in jeopardy.

“Today, I attended the homecoming ceremony of Wycliffe Oparanya, not as a minister in the Ruto government but as my friend for many years. I listened to the ground and wish to inform William Ruto that unless there are drastic changes in the performance of his government, his future is bleak,” Amisi asserted.

Adding;

“A lot needs to be done.”

While speaking at the homecoming ceremony, Ruto expressed his confidence in his newly appointed cabinet, especially the individuals he hand-picked from the opposition’s ODM Party. He noted that the country is headed in the right direction as his broad-based government is dedicated and will certainly perform.

“I do not doubt in my mind that you have what it takes to move our country forward in the ministry that you have an opportunity to serve,” Ruto stated.

He also cited Oparanya’s strong performance in previous roles, highlighting his integrity, selflessness, and effectiveness as reasons for his selection.

Ruto pointed out the similarity between the manifestos of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), expressing confidence that Oparanya and other ODM leaders will seamlessly collaborate with the government to develop the nation.

He stressed that bringing opposition leaders into the government is vital for national unity, noting that Kenya is in a unique situation that requires setting aside political and personal interests.

“There comes a time in the life of a nation when the unity of the nation, the progress of Kenya, and the transformation of our nation are much more important than any other political persuasion, political sides, political formation, or any community interests,” the Head of State expressed.

Adding;

“It is even beyond the personal interests of leaders; we must come together, and that is such a moment in our country.”
