Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption that will affect parts of Nairobi on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, as the utility continues its network maintenance programme.

The company said the outage will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will target the Nairobi West area. The interruption will support maintenance works aimed at improving supply reliability in the city.

According to the notice, the affected areas include Msufu Road, Sumba Road, Naimei Road, ICC Church Mombasa Road, Paa Crescent, Kifaru Crescent, Swara Crescent, Ghandi Avenue, Kisauni Road, Muthaiti Avenue, Muhoho Avenue, Nairobi West Hospital, Hotel Rio, Kodi Road, Summerdale Hotel, Absa Bank Nairobi West, Geta Road, Nyayo Stadium, Masaba Road, Ole Sankale Road, Madaraka Estate, Serene Court, Foundation Court, Ramsey Court, Siwaka Estate, Strathmore University, Langata Technical College, and Madaraka Primary School, along with adjacent customers.

Kenya Power urged customers in the listed neighbourhoods to plan accordingly and treat all electrical appliances as live during the maintenance hours.

Recent outages across Nairobi

The planned outage follows a similar exercise on Tuesday, November 4, which affected parts of South B, including the Riverbank area, Total Petrol Station, parts of Golden Gate, and neighbouring customers. That interruption ran from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The utility also carried out maintenance earlier in the week across Upper Hill and Kilimani, covering areas along Arwings Kodhek Road, Ralph Bunche Road, and Bishops Road, as well as facilities such as Nairobi Hospital, Sarova Panafric Hotel, Fairview Hotel, University of Nairobi Dental School, and several medical and office complexes.

Kenya Power has issued several notices in recent days as part of its ongoing routine maintenance work in the capital. The company maintains that such outages are necessary for repair work, upgrading of power lines, and in some cases, connecting new customers.

The utility asked consumers to remain alert to its updates and use alternative power sources where necessary.
