In a statement shared on X on Friday, December 19, 2025, the United Democratic Alliance said the sensitisation exercise was held at Miharati Catholic Church in Kipipiri Constituency and formed part of a wider nationwide programme aimed at educating party members on the electoral process.

“UDA Secretary General Sen Hassan Omar attended the Nyandarua County pre-party grassroots election sensitisation exercise at Miharati Catholic Church, Kipipiri Constituency, ahead of the January 10 polls in 20 counties,” the statement reads

The party said the exercise marked the closing stages of a three-week campaign that has been conducted across counties expected to take part in the grassroots elections.

According to UDA, the sensitisation sessions were meant to help supporters understand how the elections will be carried out and encourage participation at the local level.

“As the sensitisation exercise across the 20 counties that are due for polls came to a close, the SG graced the event overseen by UDA National Elections Board Member Halake Dida, where he called on Kenyans to ditch tribal tendencies and unite, citing the need for inclusivity to achieve collective progress as championed by President William Ruto,” the statement reads

The Nyandarua meeting also brought together several national and county party officials, reflecting the importance UDA has placed on grassroots structures as it prepares for future political contests. Party leaders used the forum to engage supporters and listen to their concerns, while also encouraging them to seek leadership positions at the polling station level.

“UDA National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi expressed gratitude to Nyandarua residents for supporting the party, while Executive Director Nicodemas Bore lauded Nyandarua County Woman Representative Hon. Faith Wairimu for her unwavering support and dedication to UDA activities,” the statement reads

The party noted that the sensitisation drive provided an opportunity for leaders and supporters to reflect on developments in the county and discuss the direction of the party at the grassroots. Many attendees used the sessions to ask questions about the electronic voting process and the roles available at different levels of party leadership.

“The three-week educational campaign brought together Nyandarua County’s top leaders who showered praise on President Ruto’s government for transforming the region’s road network, a feat they said had lacked in previous regimes,” the party stated

UDA said the conclusion of the sensitisation exercise means readiness for the January polls, with party members now expected to take part fully in the elections.
