The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has formally announced a framework for handling disputes arising from its upcoming nomination exercise in Ol Kalou Constituency, Nyandarua County.

In a notice dated Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the party’s Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) confirmed that the nomination for the Member of National Assembly seat in Ol Kalou will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026.

The ENDRC has assured aspirants and party members that it will be available to receive, hear, and determine all disputes related to the nomination process.

This includes disagreements over results, procedures, or decisions made during the exercise.

According to the notice, any disputes must be filed within 24 hours after the declaration of results or the specific nomination decision that triggers the complaint.

“Notice is hereby given that the UDA Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) shall be available to receive, hear, and determine all disputes relating to Ol Kalou Constituency Member of National Assembly nomination process scheduled for Friday, 8th May 2026 in all polling centers,” UDA stated.

“All electoral disputes have to be lodged before the ENDRC within twenty-four (24) hours upon declaration of results or nomination decision giving rise to the respective dispute.”

To streamline the process, UDA has also provided an electronic option for lodging complaints. Aggrieved parties can submit their disputes via email to the committee, ensuring accessibility and efficiency in handling cases.

The Ol Kalou by-election seat has already attracted 10 UDA aspirants who are seeking to be the party’s flagbearer in their face with candidates from other parties.

A few days ago they held a meeting with deputy president kithure kindiki at his karen office in Nairobi.

During the meeting, Kindiki, who also serves as the UDA Party deputy leader, urged the aspirants to consider reaching a consensus where possible in a bid to avoid unnecessary divisions within the party. At the same time, he assured all contenders that the party would conduct a free, fair, and verifiable nomination process.

“The deputy president and UDA Party deputy party leader, H.E. Kithure Kindiki, today met 10 aspirants interested in securing the UDA Party ticket in the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election, following the passing of the late Hon. David Kiaraho,” Kindiki stated.

“The deputy president encouraged the aspirants to pursue consensus where possible, while assuring all those interested of a free, fair, and verifiable nominations process under the party.”
