Sifuna berates ODM members for being reduced to beggars
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General and Nairobi Senator has stated that most ODM members have been reduced to beggars.
While speaking during the ODM at the 20th anniversary youth celebration, he expressed his frustration over how a once vibrant party has been taken to such a level that its members now have to depend on others.
According to Sifuna, the party has been reduced to a level where, even now, there is nobody within the party poised to vie for the presidency; they can only support other people or parties for the presidency to be won.

“Sisi watu wa ODM siku izi tunakaa watu wa Omba omba, mnaomba nini sasa? Haki yenu ni haki yenu; hakuna cha kuomba,” Sifuna stated.
He went on to point out potential members within the party with the ability to vie for the presidency, such as nominated Senator Crystal Asige, saying that with proper support, she can win the presidency.
“Mimi naona hapa marais huyu crystal tukimwagika nyuma yake anashinda urais,” Sifuna said.

Orengo’s frustrations
This comes after Orengo also voiced his disappointment in how the Orange party has now become a party of cowards, deviating from its original course of standing with the people, labelling it as the “party of the people, by the people, for the people.”
He stated that ODM is the only enduring party in Africa, as other parties which were once on the same level have slowly withered because they lost their course, expressing worry that if ODM continues on its current trajectory, it will follow the same fate.

He went on to criticise members within the party who are obsessed with the broad-based government and supporting President William Ruto for re-election, saying that ODM will form the next government or be part of it, while he differs with them, stating that in politics, one must make sure their stand is clear and avoid fence-sitting.
He also slammed them for behaving as if ODM depends on Ruto, insisting that it is Ruto who needs ODM more, since, according to Orengo, the president has failed to deliver to Kenyans and is relying on ODM for his re-election.
Sifuna who has being critical of the broad-based government, further urged ODM members to regain their original glory of defiance
