Mudavadi tells UDA aspirants to back Ruto’s 2027 re-election
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called onUnited Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants to support President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election. He said that building a strong coalition is key to securing Kenya’s future and ensuring the continuity of development programmes across the country.
In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Mudavadi emphasised that the president is creating a broad-based partnership aimed at delivering opportunities and progress for all Kenyans.

“Building a coalition that stands the test of time is never simple, but it is necessary if we are to secure Kenya’s future. President William Ruto is steadily building a national coalition grounded in purpose, clear direction, and a people-first agenda, a broad-based partnership designed to unlock opportunity and deliver lasting progress for every Kenyan. At a time when others are choosing noise and confusion, we are choosing structure, focus, and results,” Mudavadi stated.
Speaking after theUDA Aspirants’ Meeting at State House, Nairobi on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Mudavadi urged party members to strengthen the party from the grassroots. He said a united party would give the President the mandate needed to continue with transformative programmes.

“Speaking during the United Democratic Alliance Aspirants’ Meeting at State House, Nairobi, I called on our aspirants to rally behind the President and strengthen the party from the grassroots upward. A strong, united party will give the President the mandate needed to continue delivering transformative programmes and sustain the momentum of national development,” Mudavadi wrote.
Mudavadi also noted Kenya’s strategic position as a stabilising force in Africa, saying that a strong mandate would allow the President to continue reforms and maintain regional peace and security.
“I noted that Kenya remains the anchor state of the African continent, a nation whose stability, reforms, and leadership influence the wider region. For this reason, we must secure a strong mandate that allows the President to continue steering Kenya forward, strengthening economic reforms, advancing climate resilience, and safeguarding peace and security across the region,” Mudavadi wrote.

He concluded by calling on aspirants to campaign peacefully and uphold unity, stressing that national interest must come before individual ambitions.
“To all UDA aspirants, I urge you to demonstrate political maturity, campaign peacefully, and remain ambassadors of unity throughout the election period. Kenya is bigger than any individual interest, and together, we must protect the peace and stability that define who we are as a nation,” Mudavadi wrote.
