United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, received a strong message of confidence and continuity from UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar, who praised the party’s growth and defended President William Ruto’s leadership during an engagement held at State House, Nairobi.

Omar spoke as aspirants prepare for future political contests, with focus already turning to 2027.

The engagement brought together UDA hopefuls from different regions, with discussions centred on party unity, loyalty to its support base, and the direction of the country under the current administration. Omar used the forum to remind aspirants of the role ordinary supporters have played in building the ruling party and sustaining its influence nationwide. He credits the party’s strength to its grassroots base and loyal followers.

“Today, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party stands strong because of its supporters, the men and women who believe in its vision, values, and leadership,” he said.

Omar then placed President Ruto’s leadership in a broader historical context, drawing from his own long experience in public service across different administrations.

“Having served through successive governments since the era of Daniel Arap Moi, I can state without hesitation that William Ruto is the most transformational leader Kenya has witnessed in modern times,” he stated.

As political debate around the country intensifies, with critics questioning the government’s performance, Omar urged patience and confidence in the President’s long-term agenda, telling critics to judge the administration by its full term.

“To those who doubt his leadership, I urge them to watch the journey to 2027 and beyond. The verdict will be clear,” he said.

He concluded by praising the staying power of the ruling party, insisting that UDA is more than an election vehicle and should be seen as a long-term political force.

“The UDA Party is not a moment, it is a movement, and it is here to stay,” he stated.

He urged the UDA hopefuls in attendance to stay connected to the party’s support base, defend the administration’s record, and prepare for a political journey that extends beyond the next election cycle.
