Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said he is working closely with leaders from Western Kenya to accelerate development programs and create real opportunities for communities in the region.

In a statement shared on X on Thursday, January 2026, Mudavadi said the engagements brought together county and national leaders to align on ongoing projects and ensure their timely implementation.

“As part of advancing national development priorities, I engaged leaders from the Western Kenya region led by Ayub Savula, Deputy Governor of Kakamega County, alongside Members of Parliament Fred Ikana (Shinyalu) and Kakai Bisau (Kiminini) to drive forward ongoing development programmes,” he wrote.

“We aligned on accelerating national government initiatives focused on infrastructure, including roads, digital and power connectivity, and on expanding trade-enabling investments such as modern markets, with a clear focus on delivering tangible economic transformation and real opportunities for communities across the region,” Mudavadi added.

Mudavadi noted that collaboration between county governments, local leaders, and national authorities is key to ensuring that development programs are effectively implemented and reach the people who need them most.

Projects delivery

He emphasised the importance of delivering projects that not only improve connectivity but also empower local businesses and stimulate economic growth.

“The goal is to ensure that communities in Western Kenya experience meaningful development, with improved access to markets, electricity, and digital services, enabling them to fully participate in the national economy,” Mudavadi said.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to supporting regional leaders and working alongside them to fast-track projects that provide practical solutions to local challenges.

“This coordinated approach is essential to translating national development plans into real benefits for citizens and ensuring that no community is left behind,” Mudavadi wrote.
