Millicent Omanga set to join United Opposition during Kisii tour
Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has announced plans to join the united opposition leaders during their upcoming tour of the Kisii and Nyamira region.
Through her social media platforms on Friday, February 20, 2026, ahead of the planned three-day tour scheduled to run from Monday, February 23, to Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Omanga urged supporters to turn up in large numbers.

She noted that the task ahead would not be easy but expressed confidence that they would face it together, calling on residents to show up from Monday.
“Let us meet here starting Monday to Wednesday. The work ahead will not be easy, but we will handle it ourselves. Let’s meet on Monday.”

Her announcement came shortly after former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i confirmed the visit and welcomed his fellow united opposition partners to the region. The tour is set to kick off in Ekerenyo, Kisii County, before proceeding to Nyamira County.
“We welcome all principals, leaders, and supporters of the United Alternative Government to the great counties of Kisii and Nyamira. From Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th, we’ll be on the ground engaging residents, listening to their concerns, and outlining our clear plan that will drive our country back on track when we take over the reins of power,” Matiang’i said.
Gachagua’s Rift Valley tour
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has also indicated that he will use the trip as an opportunity to engage residents in parts of the Rift Valley while en route to Kisii.
He said he will pass through Mulot town, Bomet town, Longisa and Sotik to greet members of the Kalenjin community, whom he maintains supported him and President William Ruto in the 2022 General Election.
“Nikienda Kisii kwa ajili ya mambo ya wantam, nitapita Mulot, nipite Longisa, nipite Sotik, niendelee hadi Ekerenyo huko Kisii,” Gachagua stated.
Omanga’s latest political moves

Omanga’s latest political move signals her alignment with a party under the united opposition umbrella as she prepares to contest the Nairobi Woman Representative seat, a position she unsuccessfully vied for in 2022.
In recent months, she has been openly critical of the current administration and has been rolling with United Opposition leaders, despite having campaigned under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket during the last election.
She has also publicly expressed solidarity with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)-linked “Linda Mwananchi” team led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and hinted at joining their rallies in a show of support.
