Johana Ngeno’s mother insists Emurua Dikirr MP seat must stay in family
The late Johana Ngeno’s mother, Mary Temas, has urged the people of Emurua Dikirr constituency to keep the parliamentary seat within their family, insisting that her late son’s legacy should continue through the children he helped educate.
Speaking during the mass service and funeral of the late Johana Ng’eno and others who perished in the tragic plane crash on Saturday, February 28, 2026, she emphasised in a heartfelt statement that the leadership of the constituency should remain with her family to honour her son’s contributions and the guidance he provided to the community.
“To the president, all leaders from this region and the great people of Emurua Dikirr, the MP seat will not go out of this family of ours. The seat will be retained in the family,” she said on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Well-educated family
She explained that her late son had ensured his children were well educated, giving them the credentials to carry on his work and serve the constituency.
“I have the children whom Ngong helped me to educate up to the university. All of them have degrees and more. I am now presenting them to the people of Emurua Dikirr so they can choose who they want to succeed Johana. That is the greatest and most important word that I have today in front of the president and the whole community,” Mary added.
Johana Ng’eno’s mother also revealed a deeply personal vision she believes confirmed the continuity of leadership within her family, reflecting her spiritual connection to her late son and the community’s future.
“I am saying this because a week before Johana died, I was shown via a dream being taken by the government leaders and told to go and hold the leadership seat. I told them which? They said the presidential seat. I asked myself, now that I am old, how will this happen now? I realised that it was a manifestation that the leadership of Emurua Dikirr will be retained in our family now that Johana Ngeno has died. There was a reason for that dream, which means the leadership seat will be retained in our family,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ng’eno’s personal assistant has vowed to keep the late MP’s legacy alive.
