Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called on the leadership of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to ensure that party funds are properly distributed to members across all counties amid auction allegations.

In a statement shared on X on Monday, December 29, 2025, Amisi emphasised the importance of fairness and transparency as discussions continue over the allocation of resources within the party.

“The Odm has approximately seven (7) million members. We have seen members of the central management committee publicly announcing the sale of the party. One team was dispatched to Ruto’s Kilgoris home on Friday, 26, and the other team to Uhuru. I don’t know whether there was another team sent to Adani.” Caleb Amisi

Amisi urged the party’s management to calculate and distribute resources equitably to all branches in the country. He highlighted the role of members, both ordinary and life contributors, in sustaining the party over the years and called for their contributions to be properly recognised.

“As bona fide members, we request the two teams to do their maths well in their negotiations and allocate the funds to all 47 branches across the country. Just as a guide to your auction bidding: Odm has been in existence for 20 years, and every year, a member pays Ksh. 20 to renew membership. There are also life members like me who pay 20,000 every month and more. Also, remember to include a top-up to compensate families of thousands who died, were arrested, lost jobs with various deformities, in the 20-year struggle.” Caleb Amisi

He also stressed the need for the party to wait for the national delegates conference before finalising any distribution plans. According to Amisi, proper procedures should be followed to avoid disputes and ensure that members’ contributions over two decades are honoured.

“As members, we await the national Delegates Conference to receive our premium calculated over the stock market price.” Caleb Amisi

Winnie Odinga on deals to sell ODM

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Winnie Odinga had earlier delivered a firm message at the Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) 20th anniversary celebrations in Mombasa, emphasising that the party remains united and untouchable.

Winnie cautioned against attempts to splinter the party, warning that opportunistic manoeuvres would fail, stressing that the party is focused on building and not playing games.

“If anyone is thinking like that, wajue ya kwamba ODM tunajenga na hatuna mchezo,” she stated

She further exposed attempts by some to undermine the party through covert actions.

Naskia kuna wengine wanatembea na sisi mchana na usiku wanajaribu kuuza chama, hawatafaulu. ODM is not for sale!” she stated

Winnie also rejected the notion of backroom deals.

“ODM was not born in a bedroom, not made in a bedroom, so its future cannot be discussed in pillow talks,” she said

Winnie also affirmed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) remains a people-driven party, rooted in resistance and sustained by public conviction.
