Vihiga Queens are one-win (three points) away from winning a record fourth Football Kenya Federation (FKF) women’s premier league title in five seasons after comfortably beating Gaspo Women 2-0 at Stima Club Nairobi on Saturday.

Vihiga is now 13 points ahead of second-place Ulinzi Starlets with five rounds left and has a vastly superior goal difference.

However, they still need three points at home against Bunyore Starlets on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Mumias Sports Complex to clinch the title.

Topister Stima fired Vihiga ahead before Immah Wangira secured the result for Vihiga Queens.

Kisumu All Starlets made recorded a huge win that could save them relegation, returning home with all three points after defeating hosts Bunyore Starlets 2-0 at the Mumboha Stadium. Christine Awuor and Monica Etot were on target for the visitors.

On Sunday, Nakuru City Queens who are also fighting hard to retain their status edged out Trans Nzoia Falcons 2-1 through a brace from Miriam Chelagat.
