Tusker Football Club head coach Charles Okere has picked the positives from the team’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of AFC Leopards in their previous league assignments ahead of their next Football Kenya Federation Premier League match against the visiting Bandari FC.

The Brewers will welcome the Dockers at the Sportpesa Arena in Murang’a on Saturday, January 17, 2026, starting at 3:00 pm local time, seeking to bounce back in their ambitions after the heavy defeat against Ingwe.

Touching on the beating, Okere said the team has corrected the mistakes they committed in the AFC Leopards match, adding that the areas of concern have been addressed ahead of their crucial meeting against Bandari.

Correcting mistakes

”We learned that as a team, we have to be compact defensively. We let a lot of spaces in our own half, especially during transitions, so that is an area to improve. We have tried to fix that, and hopefully the boys are very positive, and I hope they will rectify it in the game against Bandari,” Okere said.

Charles Okere also communicated the intention to press high against Bandari on Saturday, after failing to find the net against AFC Leopards. He added that the spirits are still high among his men in the mission of challenging for the title.

”Again, we did not score a goal, so we have tried to create a balance throughout the week. Even in a moment of transition, we have tried to do what we know best. The league is tight, but we have to fight until the last minute,” the tactician added.

Technical bench changes

Okere’s sentiments come after technical bench changes are imminent at the club, after the team shipped in four goals against Ingwe in a league fixture staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

After the thorough beating at the hands of the 1998 league winners, Tusker FC Chairman Charles Gacheru announced that changes would be made to the team’s technical bench following last Sunday’s beating.

The Brewers started the season on a shaky note, registering mixed results at the onset of the 2025/26 campaign. At the final whistle on Sunday, Gacheru said the club had given the technical team sufficient time and support to put the side on a steady path toward the KPL title, but results have continued to fall short.
