Shabana FC announce prayer day details ahead of new football season

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Shabana FC has announced key details concerning the club’s spiritual intervention ahead of the new 2025/2026 football season in the country.

In a club X statement released on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Shabana FC family is set to unite in faith and thanksgiving this Sunday, September 14, 2025, for a special Prayer Day at Koma Shrines in Nairobi.

Organised under the banner of Nairobi Fans Corner and spearheaded by the Shabana Charity Team, the event seeks to bring together fans, players, and well-wishers in a moment of spiritual reflection and dedication ahead of the new football season.

According to a message from Kemunto S. Biage, representing the Shabana Charity Team, the gathering will focus on three key intentions: road safety, improved livelihoods for members and their families, and the success of Shabana FC in the upcoming season.

”On this special day, we will gather in unity to lift prayers for road safety, a better life for all our members and families, and above all, the success of Shabana FC in the coming season. Let us come together in faith, thanksgiving, and hope as we dedicate our team and supporters before God. Kindly be reminded to dress appropriately in the face of our Lord as we seek His blessings,” the statement said in part.

Alongside AFC Lepards and perennial champions Gor Mahia, Shabana FC is one of Kenya’s most passionate community clubs and enjoys strong backing from its fanbase from the Gusii region in Nyanza and across the country. Shabana also unveiled its new squad for the 2025/2026 FKF Premier League season on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Gusii Stadium.

Shabana reinforces ahead of new season

Among others, Shabana FC have officially announced the signing of Humphrey Obino, a move aimed at strengthening the club’s attack. The club has also bolstered its roster with the earlier signing of Biron ‘Ngolo’ Otieno from Kariobangi Sharks.  Also, Tore Bobe Shabana FC has announced the acquisition of midfielder David Odoyo from Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Tusker FC.

As the new Football Kenya Federation season kicks off on Saturday, September 20, 2025, Shaban FC will take on newbies APS Bomet at the Gusii Stadium on Sunday, August 21, 2025. The clash will kick off at 2:00 pm.
