Ruthless Kenya hammer Qatar in one sided T20 Quadrangular fixture
It was an easy win for Kenya’s national team in the Womens’ Twenty20 Quadrangular series yesterday following an impressive nine wicket win with 85 balls extra, over hapless Qatar at the Nairobi Gymkhana in one of the quickest matches to date.
Qatar who won toss selecting to bat were all out for a paltry 39 runs in 17.2 overs during the opening innings.
Kenya who are now second in the standings with four points off three matches had Melvin Khagoitsa (3-13) and Captain Queentor Abel (3-4) were the key damagers on the crease as they combined for six wickets.
The Middle-Eastern side who are bottom of the standings with zero points off three matches, had three players leaving for ducks due to Kenya’s superior bowling.
Flavia Odhiambo (2-10) also contributed to the Qatar batters’ demise with Aysha top scoring on (12 runs off 16 balls) with her contribution including two boundaries. In the second innings, Kenya took an average of half an hour to win with a solid chase of 42 runs for the loss of one wicket. –
