Ronald Ngala has made a return to Gor Mahia FC following his appointment as the club’s new administration manager.

The appointment, communicated on Sunday, September 7, 2025, will see the official tasked with streamlining operations, boosting compliance, and improving communication between management, players, and fans.

He will also be charged with offering support and advice across all levels of the club’s hierarchy.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald Ngala as the new Administration Manager to offer required support across all levels; the manager will be reporting to the CEO, set to be appointed,” Gor confirmed in a statement.

The effusive speaker returns to the club where he previously served as the assistant secretary general.

His arrival continues the club’s quest to restructure following major exits that rocked both the administrative and technical departments after the 2024/25 season.

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Gor Mahia dismissed interim head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno and his entire technical bench following a disappointing 2024/25 season that saw the club finish without a single trophy. 

The purge, coming after Gor Mahia’s worst season in recent memory, was later followed by the club’s CEO Ray Aruo also opting to part ways with the team.

“This decision follows a comprehensive internal review and is part of the Club’s broader restructuring process aimed at strengthening its technical and operational capacity in preparation for the upcoming 2025/26 season,” the statement read in part.

New era

Following the departures, the club confirmed that its leadership—led by Chairperson Ambrose Rachier—would oversee a new restructuring in management and technical departments, as the club prepares for the 2025/26 season.

The new chapter began in earnest with the appointment of Ghanaian coach Charles Akoonor, who took the reins on Friday, August 1, 2025. Akonnor. The 51-year-old Ghanaian arrived with a decorated resume as a former player and coach, having captained the Black Stars.

His compatriot Kobi-Mensah Bismark was also roped in as his assistant, with Brian Odongo completing the new-look technical team as team doctor.

On the playing unit, Gor Mahia has made several signings with Lewis Bandi and Michael Kibwage, who were part of the Kenyan National Team Harambee Stars squad for the CHAN games, among the incomings.
