Round two of the 2025 Prinsloo 7s Women’s competition served up more entertaining rugby as teams continued to battle for a place in the knockout stages. Northern Suburbs, Kenya Harlequins, Impala RFC, and Mwamba RFC stood out with commanding performances that kept their title hopes alive.

Northern Suburbs bounced back from their narrow opening loss with a dominant 38-0 win over NYS Ladies. The Suburbs were clinical in both attack and defence, running in multiple tries and shutting out their opponents to claim their first victory of the tournament. Their improved cohesion and urgency saw them control the game from start to finish.

Mwamba RFC, fresh off their big win in round one, maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing 19-7 victory over Nakuru RFC. During the opener, Mwamba RFC produced the standout performance of the day, thrashing NYS Ladies 43-5 in a one-sided affair.

The Black Shirts once again showed their class, blending power and pace to overwhelm their opponents. Their defensive wall also remained unbroken, marking a second straight clean sheet.

Quins, Impala stay unbeaten

Kenya Harlequins also continued their fine form, outclassing Ruck It Rugby 26-12. Quins played with flair and physicality, racking up points early and never looking back. Ruck It did manage to cross the try line, but it was too little, too late.

Impala RFC blanked Kisii Polytechnic 28-0 with a clinical display of structured rugby. Kisii have now lost both games after Kenya Harlequins beating them 28-0 during the first game.

The stakes are rising, and teams like Mwamba, Nakuru, and Harlequins are staking early claims for playoff contention.

In the men’s side, Kenya Harlequin, KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos, and hosts Nakuru RFC all booked their spots in the last eight after making it two wins from two, while Pool D was blown wide open following Mwamba RFC’s shock victory over Kabras Sugar.
