Rugby fans across Kenya are set for another action-packed weekend as the 2025 Christie Sevens showpiece gears up for kickoff on Saturday, August 16, to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

The Kenya Rugby Union has officially released the Division One pool draws, featuring top contenders from across the National Sevens Circuit.

The tournament, the third leg and one of the most followed outings in the National Sevens Circuit, promises thrilling matchups as elite and emerging teams battle for supremacy after the electrifying Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru at the weekend.

Christie 7s pools

Pool A: Champions on the hunt

Defending Prinsloo 7s champions Strathmore Leos headline Pool A, where they will face stiff competition from Kenya Harlequin FC, Zetech Oaks, and an Invitational side. With Leos riding high on recent form, this pool is expected to produce electrifying clashes. Fresh from retaining their Prinsloo Sevens title in Nakuru, Strathmore Leos pose a big threat in the pool.

Pool B: Former giants and new hopefuls

Catholic Monks, Nakuru RFC, and Impala RFC, all well-established names in Kenya’s rugby scene will contest Pool B alongside invitational 2. The group features a mix of youthful talent and experienced squads seeking redemption and rhythm in the circuit. The pool looks open to any side hungry enough to advance.

Pool C: A clash of powerhouses

Pool C is undoubtedly the group to watch, featuring titans Menengai Oilers and Kabras Sugar. They are joined by the ever-competitive Daystar Falcons and invitational 3, setting the stage for high-octane encounters and possible upsets. The group promises fireworks as it features giants in the history of the national circuit series.

Pool D: The group of grit

Former champions KCB Rugby headline Pool D in what promises to be a gritty pool alongside Mwamba RFC, Nondescripts, and KU Blak Blad. With every team in this group boasting a strong rugby tradition, fans can expect closely contested fixtures. KCB won the Drifwood 7s in Mombasa but got humiliated by Strathmore Leos in Nakuru over the weekend. The Bankers will be seeking to bounce back strong.
