Kenya Cup round two fixtures

Kenya Harlequins vs MMUST Rugby – RFUEA Grounds

Kenya Harlequins will be aiming to impress their home supporters when they welcome MMUST Rugby to the RFUEA Grounds. MMUST will be seeking to bag their first win of the season after suffering a 6-76 defeat at the hands of Kabras in their opener last weekend.

Nakuru RFC vs KU Blak Blad – Nakuru Athletics Club

Nakuru RFC return to their fortress at the Nakuru Athletics Club for a showdown against KU Blak Blad. The Wanyore will be hoping that home advantage works in their favour after enduring an 18-23 beating against Kenya Harlequin in the season opener.

Strathmore Leos vs Nondescripts – Strathmore Sports Complex

Strathmore Leos face a tricky test as they host Nondescripts at the Strathmore Sports Complex. Both teams are traditionally strong ball carriers and tactically disciplined, making this one of the most anticipated fixtures of the weekend. Leos will be keen to build on their 32-30 win over KU Black Blad last weekend.

Impala RFC vs Menengai Oilers – Impala Grounds

One of the headline clashes of the day sees Impala RFC hosting Menengai Oilers at the Impala Grounds. Impala will aim to post their first win of the season after the heavy KCB beating, while Menengai Oilers will be out to build on their 76-16 victory over Daystar Falcons.

Daystar Falcons vs Kabras Sugar – Daystar Athi River

Newcomers Daystar Falcons face a stern challenge as they welcome powerhouse Kabras Sugar to Athi River. The Falcons will be looking to prove they can stand up to the intensity of top-flight rugby, but Kabras, renowned for their depth, will aim to add another win to the 67-06 triumph over MMUST in their season opener.

Kenya 7s squad named

Meanwhile, as the new Kenya Cup season takes shape, the Kenya Sevens management, led by head coach Kevin Wambua, has announced a star-studded national rugby team for the upcoming 2026 season.

The team has been in training for the last two months following the conclusion of the 27th edition of the Safari7s and is now preparing for the HSBC SVNS 2, kicking off in February 2026.

Nairobi is honoured to host the first leg of the SVNS 2 tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Speaking to the Kenya Rugby Union media team, Humphrey Kayange, Director in charge of the National 7s teams, described the hosting rights as a special moment.

“This is a special moment! Kenya gets to host the SVNS 2 leg in Nairobi. Having the calibre of players competing in Nairobi is something we have been dreaming of for many years, and what a platform SVNS 2 will give our players to compete and perform in front of the fans who have been the heartbeat of Kenya Sevens for decades,” Kayange said.
