Kenyan teams, academies to benefit more from Kit Aid
There is new hope for local youths and young players who are eager to scale their heights for global stardom through football.
The new hope is courtesy of Kit Aid, a UK-based organization that has been at the forefront to catapult young stars in Africa through donations of playing and training kits, collected from various teams in England and beyond.
Through her help, Kenyan teenager and FC Talanta striker Kevin Tom Machika got an invitation in Europe and subsequently spending two months trailing with a premiership club which is monitoring his progress.
Kit Aid representative for the Kenyan project, Pia Jefferson, has revealed that a total of 23 boxes full of kit donated by various football clubs that includes top premiership clubs in the UK has docked in Mombasa, Kenya, ready to be dispatched and distributed to the most deserving teams and football academies in the East African country.
“Am excited to announce our continued support to the communities in Kenya through the supply of these kits from our partners who have given us the donations in United Kingdom and beyond.
“We want to positively impact the lives of the youths and kids so that they may no longer worry about playing jerseys or even training attires, they can now focus on developing their skills on the field of play,” she told People Daily Sport.
