Reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League Kenya Police FC have named their starting XI to face Garde-Côtes in their CECAFA Kagame Cup debut this afternoon in Dar es Salaam.

Much attention is drawn to the inclusion of Kenyan veteran defender Joash Onyango, famously nicknamed the “Wall of Berlin.”

Onyango, a former Simba SC central defender, is one of five players making their debuts for the Kenyan giants in today’s clash. His presence is expected to add leadership and steel to the Police’s backline. He has previously featured for record Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

He joined Police Fc recently after playing for Singida Fountain Gate FC in the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League.

In the absence of regular captain David Ochieng (Cheche), who is sidelined with injury, Charles Ouma has been handed the armband and will lead the side in this encounter.

The starting line-up also features Khadime Ndiaye in goal, Baraka Badi, Emmanuel Erupe, Brian Okoth, Albert Otieno, Mosengo Tansele, David Simiyu, Erick Zakayo, and Muyadi Gideon.

The bench options include Job Ochieng, Daniel Sakari, Geoffrey Onyango, Simon Nyamweya, Alvin Mang’eni, Clinton Kinanga, Musa Brian, Mbombo Moise, Exaule Misuri, David Okoth, Edward Omondi, and Eusters Chasara.
