Kenya Pipeline crowned KVF women’s league champions

Kenya Pipeline are the 2025 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League women’s champions after edging a hard-fighting DCI Kenya 3-2 in a thrilling match played at the Kasarani Indoor Arena this Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Pipeline, boasting the versatile stars Gladys Ekaru, Loice Simiyu, and Triza Atuka in their ranks, dug deep to down the spirited sleuths and reclaim the title they last won in 2022 under coach Paul Gitau.
The Oilers mounted an epic performance of team coordination and relentless offensive display to clinch the thrilling five-set battle, sealing the best-of-three series 2-0.
Geoffrey Omondi’s team on Friday, June 6, drew the first blood of the Game 1 encounter, winning in three straight sets to move within reach of the league title.

Saturday’s encounter demanded a top-drawer display from the eventual winners, with DCI’s undying spirit coming into play.
The debutants mounted a captivating resilience in game 2 that lasted for two and a half hours, offering the fans the thrills of two elite volleyball clubs at the arena.
Walking a tightrope from the opening defeat, Patrick Sang’s charges were quick off the blocks and won the first set in a 21-25 scoreline.
Their quest for a successive victory in set two ended late on as Pipeline turned the tide to win with an identical margin.
A hotly contested third set saw the sleuths outclass the Oilers 25-18, forcing the clash to game four, where Pipeline aptly responded with a 25-21 victory.
DCI’s resolve was nonetheless snapped in the decisive fifth set on a 15-11 scoreline to hand the game to the perennial rivals.

The new accolade adds to the six-time African champions’ growing list of achievements with a berth in the next edition of the Women’s African Club Championship games to boot.
DCI, who left the court dejected but ultimately proud of a season in which they successfully punched above their weight to emerge among the podium finishers.
Meanwhile, KCB Volleyball Club clinched the third-place spot of the 2025 KVF Finals following a 3-1 set win over rivals Kenya Prisons Queens on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The bankers silenced the wardens by outclassing them in a four-set thriller staged at the Kasarani Indoor Arena to claim the third-place playoff tie.
Japheth Munala’s charges, who failed to live up to their title defense, mounted a spirited fightback in the decisive play-off tie after losing the first set on a 25-27 score line.
Their response was quick and in style, taking Set 2 with a convincing 25-14 to level matters.
The defending champions proved dominance in the subsequent two sets, clinching the ties on 25-20 and 25-13 to secure a podium place finish in the current campaign.
