Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has signalled possible political ambitions after officially joining the Linda Mwananchi movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

The development was publicly announced by Sifuna on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, who welcomed Odhiambo into the movement through a post on his X account, sparking speculation about her future political plans ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Full parade to welcome Madam President. Welcome to Linda Mwananchi @FaithOdhiambo8,” Sifuna posted.

Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament (MP) Anthony Kibagendi also confirmed Odhiambo’s entry into the movement, describing her arrival as a major boost to the political outfit.

“Welcome, Madam President, to Linda Mwananchi,” Kibagendi wrote on his Facebook account.

Linda Mwananchi has increasingly positioned itself as a platform championing governance reforms, constitutionalism, accountability, and citizen-focused leadership, attracting leaders and professionals aligned with those ideals.

Faith Odhiambo’s popularity

Odhiambo, who rose to national prominence during her tenure as LSK President, has recently been vocal on major constitutional and governance issues, particularly during the Gen Z protests in 2024 and 2025, where she fiercely defended the protesters in court.

Her legal commentary and public positions on constitutionalism, fair hearing, and democratic accountability have earned her significant public attention beyond the legal profession.

Her association with the Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi movement could mark the beginning of a transition from legal activism into elective politics.

Neither Odhiambo nor the Linda Mwananchi leadership has publicly disclosed whether she intends to contest for any seat in the next election cycle.

Linda Mwananchi Thika rally

However, it remains to be known whether she will join the movement’s upcoming rally in Thika.

Linda Mwananchi has set Sunday, June 14, as the date for its rally in Thika.

In a statement shared on its social media pages on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, two days after its Machakos County edition, the movement, through its leaders, urged supporters to turn up in large numbers for the highly anticipated gathering.

“Thika, save the date!” Sifuna stated.

Linda Mwananchi has been traversing different parts of the country in search of support and popularising her movement.

The latest rallies were held in Machakos Town and Mlolongo, events that attracted huge crowds who came to witness what TIFA recently ranked as one of the fastest-growing political movements in the country.
